Barbara Russell of Denton, Texas has been a REALTOR® and member of the Greater Denton/ Wise County Association of REALTORS® for more than 48 yrs.

She was president of the local Association of REALTORS® and has served on the board of directors of the Texas Association of REALTORS®, and the National Association of REALTORS®.  Barbara is currently serving on local Association of REALTORS® board of directors.

In addition to a successful career in real estate, Barbara has contributed to her community in various leadership roles which include serving as former Board Chair of  the Denton Chamber of Commerce, during which she helped coordinate year-long community wide effort to secure Denton as the permanent site of a National Tele-Registration Center for the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

She has fulfilled appointments to serve and chair the City of Denton Planning & Zoning Commission, as well as the Public Utilities Board.  Barbara has worked on various projects at Strickland Middle School and currently serves as a public member of the campus leadership team.  Serving the community is important to Barbara as is her family.  

Some of the honors Barbara has received include REALTOR® of the Year for the state of Texas, REALTOR® of the Year for the Greater Denton/ Wise County Association of REALTORS®, NAR “Omega Tau Rho” award, 40-year Emeritus Honor from the National Association of REALTORS®.

During her career Barbara has earned several professional real estate designations, CRB, CRS, and GRI.

She is honored to be appointed to the Texas Real Estate Commission as a Broker Member by the Honorable Greg Abbott.
