November is upon us and the football season in Texas is more than half done. What happens in the coming weeks makes all the difference for which teams make the playoffs. Some teams are getting better and others are struggling. I hope all your favorites are “growing stronger” as the season matures.
Our agency’s performance is certainly in the category of “getting stronger” every month. Read Tony Slagle’s report on our customer service trends and you will better understand our intense focus on improvement. Every day we work on issues that will streamline processes or remove impediments, and find better ways to serve and communicate with our stakeholders. Let us know how we are doing. We are always ready to listen to solid ideas for improving our performance.
November 14, 15 and 16 are key dates for our agency. On the 14th, our Commission and Board Chairs and I will testify and answer questions at the Sunset Advisory Commission. In addition to the formal response the agency filed at their website, we look forward to sharing more positive details about our progress as we continue to improve and learn from this important oversight process.
On November 15th, the Commission will meet for its regular quarterly meeting, but in a new location at the State Capitol Extension. See our website for the location map, agenda and materials. On that same date, the Board will hold a workshop, followed by its regular quarterly meeting on Friday, November 16th at our normal location in the Stephen F Austin Building. Materials will be on the Board website shortly.
Because 2019 is a legislative session year, and we are undergoing sunset review, we know there will be at least one bill directly affecting our agency. We trust it will allow us more opportunities to continue our mission of enhancing the high quality of real estate services available to Texas consumers. We do this by recognizing the value of experience and education and removing barriers to smart and ethical business practices. In this manner, our focus helps to keep the Texas economy healthy and growing.
As always, we welcome your input on all matters our agency is responsible to accomplish. Aim high!
